Here Comes President Ford?
In October 1973 Gerald Ford was appointed vice president, but then in 1974 he became the first non elected president. Now he plans to lead this country without any planning, without any say from the people? He steps into office and he pardons Nixon? After Nixon spent the nations money, is that fair? If people had a say in President, would Gerald Ford be our first choice? The economy isn't going to fix itself, and whose going to help it, because the president hasn't. In a time of need a nation should be able to turn to their leader, but let's just say Ford is no FDR or JFK. SO the question stands, who do we turn to?

imagine- john lennon

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

I love this song. I think it might be the best anti-war song ever written. Its so simple, but it speaks so loudly. It's about imagining a world where no one fights, no one is separated, and no one is in trouble. A world where people can just be people and live there life; an idea that seemed to be so complex in the 1960's. People were constantly being judged and told who to be and what to do, being an individual was irregular. Even during the Vietnam war America was trying to tell another country to change, to conform to our lifestyle; the world will never be good enough. A powerful protest song, with a simple melody can go a long way.

women's rights

i think today women still don't have equal rights. I think women are still considered weaker and less powerful when compared to a man. Women still don't earn as much money as men, and still are viewed as fragile. It's stupid that people can't see the strength in females, and its certainly unfair.

JFK FIELD TRIP

So unlike some people I really enjoyed the field trip. I mean not everything was amazing but actually walking through and reading everything was so eye opening. I didn't realize how much he changed our country; we talked about it in class but it didn't really hit me until that day. I really enjoy watching things on JFK whether its things on the history channel or sitting around the dinner table talking about him. I walked away from the event with a better look upon his life and what he's done. I think he might be a top 10 president, maybe even top 5. I have a lot of respect for him and Johnson for attempting to make the world a better place.

Dr.Suess Book

I think the book ends simply. I think the general waits for the armys new invention, and as his weapon comes, so does the enemies. I think they both will drop a bomb, and it'll take down the wall. Behind the wall it will reveal that the yuks and zuks look exactly the same, and the arms race/hate will be over.

Some article thing

Okay, so reading this got me so mad randomly. I think out of this entire thing I agree with one point, "There will be some cities like Detriot that in a real depression could just become ghost towns." But other than that, it made me mad. I think we should be looking at the history of the 1920's which lead up to the 1930s because we could be getting hints of a depression and not even know it. We need to open our eyes and look around and see what could happen in the future. Alot of families are already just getting by, and some people are at the lowest point. And in the article it says about how we have government help, which is true but it doesn't last. I know from personal experiance that they can't help you forever and when the help ends, it ends. I don't like this article at allll!

october 25th

I think that American's should have the right to decide whether or not they want to go to war. I don't think it's fair for some people to give up their freedom in time of need. Unless people aren't signing up, that's when a draft should be put in place, but it should have a strict criteria. People shouldn't have to give up their life in time of America's needs, unless they are willing too.
